My name is Deane Brown, but all my friends call me DEANO.

I am 16 years old, live in Motherwell with my Mum, Dad and Brother.

I am in my 5th year at Dalziel High School,  this year I am studying for my Highers.

I have been racing motorbikes for 9 years now.

I love racing 125’s and also going back and racing Mini Moto’s where I started my career.

I have a season ticket to watch my favourite football team, Motherwell, and go as often as I can.

I play golf at Colville Park Golf Club and have a handicap of 18. Although I have to Keep fit for my bike racing,

I really enjoy it so go cycling and circuit training in the gym as often as I can.

I also play Volleyball, basketball and compete in Cross country Running.

I started racing Mini Moto’s in February 2001. I took part in the Scottish Junior Championship.

I was riding a Polini 910 Steel 4.2 hp Junior Class Bike. In that first year I managed to finish 7th In the Scottish Championship.

I also took part in the Isle Of Man Mini Moto TT

2002

I raced Mini Moto’s. Competing in and WINNING The following.

U.K. Champion - 4.2 hp Junior Class

North Of England Champion - Junior Class

Scottish Champion - 4.2hp Junior Class

I also travelled to Italy in April, to take on the Best Mini -Moto racers in the world.

They have  produced Champions the likes of- Valentino Rossi and Loris Capirossi to name a few.

2003

I raced Mini Moto’s, Competing in and WINNING The following.

U.K. Champion

Scottish Champion  4.2hp Junior Class

2004

I continued to race Mini Moto’s. My results really improved this year.I became the

Scottish Junior Champion

Scottish Junior Production Champion

Runner Up In The Open Class

I also represented Scotland in Italy in October  riding a Factory prepared bike at

Galliano Park in the Italian Constructors Championship.

2005

I moved up to race big bikes racing an Aprilia RS 125. I raced at a few Scottish meetings.

I WON at my First Meeting at Knockhill.  But I mainly concentrated on the Aprilia Super Teen Challenge.

A National Championship run in the MRO Series that was shown on Sky TV. My Best result being an 8th in my first year.

2006

I raced an Aprilia RS 125 for Alan Mcintosh of Polini.co.uk. I raced in the Scottish Formula 125 Championship.

And also the ACU Star formula 125 National Championship.

I WON the Scottish Formula 125 Championship.

Finished 3rd in the ACU Star formula 125 Championship.

I Also Competed in 1 round of the  MRO series at Brands Hatch. In 4 races,  I had A 1st and three 2nd places.

I also managed to get through the elimination process and testing session’s to gain a place in the

RED BULL  ROOKIES CUP for 2007.

2007

seen me move up to race in the GP125 Class. I raced in the BSB 125 GP Class.

And I was also picked to race in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, which is a support class for the

World Moto GP’s.

In the BSB I was riding for UK1 racing.

Due to picking up an Injury during the season and date clashes with the World rounds

I only managed to race in 6 rounds of the British Championship. But I was never out of the top 10 in the results.

I also managed a 1st and a 3rd in the Cup class for under 16’s. This was a good result for my first year in this class

and I was also the youngest rider in the class at 14yrs old.

I was picked as one of the 23 riders to compete in this years

RED BULL  ROOKIES CUP.

There were thousands of applicants which were cut down using interviews and test days to get the final group.

I raced all over Europe alongside the World Moto GP  Championship.

I missed 2 rounds due to injury and I was racing at circuits I had never been to before but I managed

7th overall in the Championship.

My best result was a 2nd place  at Valencia.

Due to my good results I was picked to compete in the Championship in 2008 again.

2008

I competed in the BSB GP 125 Class and also in the Moto GP Red Bull Rookies Cup for the second season.

In the British I had a best result of 5th but had a lot of problems with the bike a few crashes and missed a few rounds due to injury.

Not a season I was happy about. But when the bike was running well I was able to qualify on pole and run at the front.

So I know I was quick enough to WIN with a bit more luck.

At the RED BULL ROOKIES

I had a really good start to the year at Jerez where there were 2 races; I finished on the Podium twice with two 3rd place finishes.

And after a 6th place at the next round I missed most of the RED BULL ROOKIES due to Injury,

but because of the good results I had at the start and end of the year

I only just missed out on the end of season Cup race against the Americans at Indianapolis.

Again bad luck, Injury and machine problems hindered my season.

But when the bike was right and I was fit I could run with the front runners  so know I could WIN in this Championship.

2009

I had a terrible start to the year due to an injury at the first round, I crashed in the race at Paddock hill at brands hatch,

braking my left wrist in 3 places, and having to miss the next round at Oulton Park.

Result wise was very poor at the first couple of rounds returning from my injury due to lack of confidence and track time.

Turning point of the season was Knockhill when I was only 0.1 of 5th place , and from then on began to find form again.

At the next meeting ,Brands GP, I had a great race with about 6 other riders so it was really a toss of the coin for 5th place,

but I managed 6th, still respectable. Cadwell came next , one of my favourite tracks, where I had a great race finishing 2nd,

this was a real lift for myself and all of the team. Croft was the next race on the calendar , but is one of  my least favourite tracks

but still got a solid finish in 5th position, considering missing practise on the Friday due to technical problems.

Silverstone ,  we had a detonation issue in the race , causing a lack of power half way through the race, I finished in 7th.

Oulton , the last race of the season, everyone wants a good result in the last race , making winter a lot more pleasant, not so good qualifying ended up p9, but had a great start to the race , battling for the lead to the last lap finishing in 3rd place.

In 2009 I finished 9th in the main championship and 2nd in the under 16 cup. Not bad considering I missed 5 rounds of BSB.

I would just like to thank all the team for their hard work throughout the season,

and a big thanks to all my sponsers as without them , i wouldn't be racing.

2010

2010 will see me once again ride the Appleyard/ Macadam Racing 125cc Seel bike at BSB.

I have a new mechanic for the coming season by the name of Richard ( Trick ) Slinn. Trick has great experience on 125's and has worked in Moto GP for the last year as mechanic for a 250cc GP team. Trick mechaniced for  me when I rode for UK1 in 2007 until I broke my femur, when he moved on to pastures new.

So I am really looking forward to working with Trick again as we both have unfinished business in 125 class at BSB.
